Weighted Grade Average

Calculate your weighted grade average using the Czech grading system (1-5 scale).

Grade Weight

Special characters - Czech grades are sometimes followed by + or -. For example, 1- is automatically converted to 1.5

Percentages - enter 90% as 90

Letter grades - Czech universities use letter grades: A (1), B (1.5), C (2), D (2.5), E (3), F (4)

Bulk import (Bakaláři, Škola OnLine) - paste a list of grades separated by spaces into the first field. Do the same for weights

Save calculations - you can now save your average calculations and return to them anytime. Just click "Save" and enter a name for your calculation

Weighted Average Calculation

How to Calculate Weighted Grade Average?

To calculate weighted grade average, you need the values of individual grades and corresponding weights for each grade. If you want to calculate weighted average, the most convenient way is to use our calculator with weights. For manual calculation, follow these steps:

  1. 1. Make sure you have values and corresponding weights for each grade.
  2. 2. Multiply each grade value by its corresponding weight.
  3. 3. Add all the resulting products together.
  4. 4. Add all the weights together.
  5. 5. Divide the sum of products by the sum of weights.

Formula for Calculating Weighted Grade Average

Weighted grade average = (grade1 × weight1 + grade2 × weight2 + ... + gradeN × weightN) / (weight1 + weight2 + ... + weightN). Where grade1, grade2 to gradeN are individual grades, weight1, weight2 to weightN are corresponding weights, and N is the number of grades and weights. Using this formula, you can calculate a weighted grade average that takes into account the weights of individual grades.

Arithmetic Average Calculation

How to Calculate Arithmetic Average?

To calculate arithmetic average, all values are added together and the result is divided by the number of values. The following procedure shows how to calculate arithmetic average:

  1. 1. Add the values of all grades.
  2. 2. Determine the number of grades.
  3. 3. Divide the sum of values by the number of grades.

Formula for Calculating Arithmetic Grade Average

Grade average = (grade1 + grade2 + grade3 + ... + gradeN) / N. Where grade1, grade2, grade3 to gradeN are individual grades and N is the number of grades.

What Does Wikipedia Tell Us About Weighted Average?

Weighted average generalizes arithmetic average and provides a characteristic of a statistical set in case the values in this set have different importance, different weights. It's used especially when calculating the overall arithmetic average of a set composed of multiple subsets. To calculate weighted average, we need the values whose average we want to calculate, as well as their weights.
