How to Calculate Weighted Grade Average?
To calculate weighted grade average, you need the values of individual grades and corresponding weights for each grade. If you want to calculate weighted average, the most convenient way is to use our calculator with weights. For manual calculation, follow these steps:
- 1 Make sure you have values and corresponding weights for each grade.
- 2 Multiply each grade value by its corresponding weight.
- 3 Add all the resulting products together.
- 4 Add all the weights together.
- 5 Divide the sum of products by the sum of weights.
Formula for Calculating Weighted Grade Average
Weighted average = (grade1 × weight1 + grade2 × weight2 + ...) / (weight1 + weight2 + ...).
For example: (5 × 3 + 4 × 2) / (3 + 2) = 4.6
How to Calculate Arithmetic Average?
To calculate arithmetic average, all values are added together and the result is divided by the number of values. The following procedure shows how to calculate arithmetic average:
- 1 Add the values of all grades.
- 2 Determine the number of grades.
- 3 Divide the sum of values by the number of grades.
Formula for Calculating Arithmetic Grade Average
Average = (grade1 + grade2 + grade3 + ...) / N.
