What Average Do You Need for Honors? Requirements for Czech Schools

You receive honors with an average of 1.5 or better. For honors at both elementary and high school, the grade average must be at most 1.5. This means the average evaluation across all subjects must not exceed 1.5.

For honors, you cannot have a 3 or worse grade. 2s are allowed, but their number is limited by the requirement that the overall average must not exceed 1.5. With only 1s and 2s, you can have at most as many 2s as keep the average under 1.5.

Requirements for honors are the same at elementary school (ZŠ) and high school (SŠ). At both types of schools: average up to 1.5, no 3 or worse, and exemplary behavior.

All required subjects on the report card count toward the honors average. Optional subjects and extracurricular activities are not included. Behavior grade must be 1 (excellent).

Some schools may have stricter rules for awarding honors. It's always good to check directly with your school about specific requirements.
