Grade Average and Weights in Bakaláři and Škola OnLine
How to find grade average, set weights, and understand calculations in the most widely used school systems in Czech Republic
Bakaláři and Škola OnLine are the two most common electronic grade management systems at Czech schools. Both systems allow students and parents to track grade averages online and work with grade weights.
How to Find Average in Bakaláři System
In the Bakaláři system, you can find the grade average as follows:
- 1. Log in to Bakaláři using your login credentials
- 2. In the main menu, select 'Známky' (Grades) or 'Hodnocení' (Evaluation)
- 3. The grade average is displayed either for each subject separately, or as an overall average at the end of the grade table
Grade Weights in Bakaláři
In the Bakaláři system, each grade has an assigned weight that is set by the teacher. Typical weights are:
- Weight 1: regular homework, class participation
- Weight 2-3: smaller tests, written assignments
- Weight 4-5: quarterly papers, important tests
- Weight 10+: semester tests, major exams
You can see the grade weight in the evaluation details. The higher the weight, the more the grade affects the average.
How to Find Average in Škola OnLine
The Škola OnLine system displays grade averages similarly to Bakaláři. After logging in, you'll find the average in the grades section, where it's automatically calculated from your evaluations so far.
Grade Weights in Škola OnLine
Škola OnLine also works with grade weights. The system displays the weight for each grade and calculates the weighted average automatically. If you don't see weights, your school may be using a uniform weight for all grades.
